The NCAA has announced the qualifiers for the Division II men’s and women’s outdoor track and field championships. The selection process for the event is based on a specific set of numerical thresholds for student-athletes and relay teams who have declared their intent to compete.
For every individual event contested within the championships, the top 22 declared student-athletes have been accepted into the competition.
Relay and Multi-Event Qualification
The qualification standards for relay teams differ from those of individual athletes. The top 16 declared relay teams have been accepted into the championships. To maintain a distribution of participants across different schools, the NCAA limits acceptance to one relay team per institution.

Specific limits are also in place for combined events. For the heptathlon and decathlon, the top 16 declared student-athletes have been accepted into the competition.
The eligibility for these spots is contingent upon the athlete or team being “declared,” meaning they must have officially entered the qualification process to be considered for the top rankings in their respective events.
