Analysts at IDC reported results exceeding expectations. Their data indicates a 9.6 percent increase in PC sales in the last quarter of last year, with consumers and businesses purchasing a total of 76.4 million units.

One major driver of the rebound was the end of support for Windows 10 this year. Though, analysts believe that news of soaring memory chip prices starting in the second half of the year also played a significant role in creating exceptionally high demand.
