Concord-Carlisle High School senior Ammar Bagasra achieved a significant milestone in his shooting career by securing first place in the under-18 25-meter sport pistol event at the Junior Olympics held in Colorado Springs.
The victory came during a weeklong competition that concluded on Monday, April 20, 2026, which was observed as Patriots Day. Bagasra’s performance contributed to a strong overall showing, as he finished fourth in the sport pistol category for the entire event.
In addition to his gold medal in the 25-meter sport pistol, Bagasra earned third place in the under-18 10-meter air pistol competition and placed seventh overall in the air pistol division. He noted that he missed the final podium in air pistol by just two points.
Reflecting on his experience, Bagasra shared in an email to The Concord Bridge that “Colorado has been pretty good,” expressing satisfaction with his results despite narrowly missing additional podium finishes.
Looking ahead, Bagasra is preparing for the next stage of his competitive season, with plans to participate in the National Championships scheduled for June in Michigan.
The Concord-Carlille High School athletics program continues to support student-athletes in various sports, including shooting, as part of its broader commitment to extracurricular excellence.
