The previous season saw connacht struggle with consistency, particularly in interprovincial matches, where they lost all six encounters. Their league form was inconsistent, and scoring against stronger opponents proved challenging. The team averaged 23 points per game, ranking around 11th in the URC, while defensively, they conceded an average of 25 points, among the worst in the competition.
