Han stated he would step aside in ⁤the ⁣national⁤ interest, pending a ⁢decision from the Constitutional Court.Since then, Deputy Prime minister and Minister of Finance Choi ⁢Sang-mok has served‌ as acting president.

With the Court’s⁤ decision, Han is to ⁤be reinstated. A separate ruling regarding Yoon’s impeachment ⁤is ⁢pending. Should⁣ the Court overturn Yoon’s impeachment, he would return⁣ to power.⁣ If the impeachment ⁤is upheld, new⁢ presidential elections will be held.
