Constitutional Charge Against Ángela Vivanco
The National Renewal Committee (RN) bench of deputies confirmed the presentation of a constitutional charge against Ángela Vivanco, the judge of the Supreme Court, within the framework of the so-called Audios case.
Representative Ximena Ossandón, head of the RN bench, explained that “the charge against Minister Vivanco is ready, as we promised. It will be presented tomorrow, Monday, so that it can be realized in the room in the afternoon session and start the process. which is the notification, the composition of the commission itself which will analyze, etc.
Ángela Vivanco’s Actions Under Scrutiny
Along these lines, he noted that the constitutional charge against Ángela Vivanco “has two chapters, one relates to the actions she had in cases she heard and ruled on as a judge, and the other related to how he intervened in various appointments. “
“We consider that both cases are serious and that they are facts that cannot be, that cannot be corrected within the Judicial Branch, and that is why it deserves to activate the mechanism of this Congress,” declared Ossandón.
Legislative Timing Not a Concern
Along with this, he made it clear that “in terms of legislative timing, there is no problem. Constitutional charges are not made when legislative space appears. The committees with the president are the ones who decide the priorities and how the workload is distributed.”
