Consumer Warns: How BodyArmor’s Vitamin B6 Ruined My Health

Consumer Warns: How BodyArmor’s Vitamin B6 Ruined My Health

December 1, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor Health

A woman named Allison Holder warns others about the BodyArmor energy drink. She claims that its high Vitamin B6 content significantly harmed her health.

In a TikTok video, Holder shares her experience. She says, “BodyArmor blew up my life.” She explains that energy and hydration drinks often contain excessive B vitamins. Many believe these vitamins provide instant energy.

Holder noticed symptoms earlier this year. She experienced numbness in her fingers and eventually lost feeling in her hands and feet. A doctor recognized the issue as related to B vitamins. Holder learned that too much Vitamin B6 could have serious effects, leading to misdiagnosis with conditions like ALS.

She encourages doctors to check B vitamin levels if patients show signs of nerve issues. Holder has a stern message for BodyArmor. She states, “Your product is poison. You should put a skull and crossbones on it.”

She contrasts video clips of her prior workout strength with her current struggles to walk. Holder urges caution with Vitamin B6 due to its potential toxicity. She reminds everyone that while other vitamins can be expelled from the body, excess B6 can cause harm.

Vitamin B6 is vital for brain health and immunity, but overdosing on it may lead to nerve damage. The National Institute of Health recommends 1.5-1.7 milligrams of Vitamin B6 for adults over 51. BodyArmor contains 2.55 milligrams per serving, easily leading to excess intake if consumed frequently.

The story has gained traction on TikTok, attracting comments from viewers. Some remind others that hydration drinks are not necessary for everyone unless there’s a specific need. Others share similar experiences with Vitamin B6 toxicity, emphasizing that simple water may suffice for hydration.

The Daily Dot reached out to Holder and BodyArmor for further comments.
