Napoli, top of the Italian football league, continued their impressive unbeaten run by defeating hosts Milan on Tuesday and Napoli coach Antonio Conte can no longer ignore the title, with a return to European Championship contention the main objective.

Napoli’s 2-0 win at the San Siro meant the team went 9 consecutive league matches without defeat and extended their lead at the top to 7 points against Inter Milan, who visit Empoli on Wednesday.

After Napoli failed to defend its title last season and fell in the standings, which caused it to miss all continental tournaments this season, Conte is trying to bring some balance to the club’s expectations.
