The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Gadani has reported a series of significant seizures totaling over Rs1 billion during the past week, as part of intensified anti-smuggling operations along Pakistan’s coastal belt and the Regional Connectivity Development (RCD) Highway. These efforts demonstrate a strengthened commitment to border security and economic protection.
Drug Interdiction and high-Value Goods Confiscated
On November 30,2025,customs teams at the Khurkhera check post,Winder,successfully recovered 188 kilograms of hashish concealed within a shipping container. Authorities have registered a First Facts Report (FIR) and initiated a full examination into the matter. Additionally,at the same checkpoint,officers intercepted a passenger bus carrying smuggled goods valued at Rs70 million.
Agricultural smuggling and Fuel Interception
A considerable consignment of smuggled pomegranates, weighing 76 tons and transported in four refrigerated containers, was seized by the Special Smuggling Prevention Squad. The seized fruit was later auctioned, generating Rs25 million in revenue for the national exchequer. Further operations targeted fuel smuggling, with customs officials intercepting two passenger buses carrying 14,000 liters of illegally imported Iranian petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL). A separate raid on a godown in Bawani, Hub, resulted in the recovery of 10,650 liters of Iranian diesel.
Poppy Seed Seizure highlights Ongoing Challenges
A Hino truck transporting smuggled poppy seeds, estimated to be worth Rs24 million, was intercepted at the FEU Khuzdar. This seizure underscores the continued challenges in preventing the illicit trafficking of controlled substances across the region.
