Cooper Flagg: andrei Kirilenko & Scottie Pippen
Cooper Flagg’s defensive prowess is reminiscent of Andrei Kirilenko, known for his versatility and ability to impact multiple statistical categories. While the kirilenko comparison holds defensively, Flagg has shown more offensive potential. His progress throughout the season, including improved shooting, has drawn comparisons to Scottie Pippen. Flagg’s unselfishness and passing ability make him an ideal complement to another primary scorer.
Flagg entered his time at Duke with questions surrounding his shooting consistency and self-creation skills. Though, he addressed these concerns by improving his game, shooting over 40% from beyond the arc in ACC play. while some questions remain about his release, ther is optimism that he can be a primary scoring option in the NBA.
Dylan Harper: Cade Cunningham
Dylan harper, a sizable lead guard with a critically important wingspan, possesses natural instincts and court vision. These attributes compensate for the fact that he is not a consistent 3-point shooter or a dynamic athlete. Harper’s ability to play on or off the ball makes him a versatile prospect. His skill set is similar to that of Cade Cunningham, who has made strides with his shooting while maintaining his playmaking abilities.
Harper’s durability will be a key factor,as it has been for Cunningham. This past season marked the first time in Cunningham’s four-year career that he played 70 games, and he responded with his first All-NBA season.
Naasir Cunningham: Michael Porter Jr.
naasir Cunningham possesses a combination of size, athleticism, and shot-making ability, giving him considerable upside. Though, concerns exist regarding his assist-to-turnover ratio and his ability to pressure the rim in the halfcourt. michael Porter Jr. had similar strengths and weaknesses, along with comparable measurements. Porter’s path provides a potential template for Cunningham to achieve long-term success.
Despite undeniable highs, cunningham’s consistency has been questioned. His range of outcomes is perhaps wider than any other player in the top 6, but Porter’s path provides a clear template that could lead to long-term success and impacting winning.
