Passoré: COPROSUR Holds 1st Regular Session
Yako, (AIB) – The Committee for Emergency Relief and Provincial Rehabilitation (COPROSUR) of Passoré, in collaboration with the multi-sector disaster risk preparedness project for indigenous emergency response called BEEOOLGO, held its 1st regular session of the year 2024 on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in Yako.
The statutory members of COPROSUR met to share information on crisis management and disasters, the health, humanitarian, and educational situation in the province, as part of strengthening the capacity of the actors involved in reducing the effects of crises and security disasters.
Meeting Agenda
The meeting, held under the auspices of COPROSUR President Daouda Sangaré, examined six points on the agenda, including:
- The introduction of the BEEOOLGO project
- The humanitarian situation in the province
- The general situation of primary education and post-primary and secondary education in the province
- The health situation in the Yako area in the S1 period of 2024
Presentations and Discussions
The provincial director in charge of post-primary and secondary education in Passoré, Halidou Konfé, presented the state of education in the province, including the results of the 2023-2024 school exams.
The provincial director in charge of basic education, Mahamoudou Kiogo, presented the state of education in emergency situations, academic results of 2024, and the main challenges of education in the province.
The Chief Medical Officer of the health district (MCD) of Yako, Dr. Ousseni Sawadogo, focused on the epidemiological situation in Passoré, highlighting satisfactory health coverage rates in all health facilities.
The NGO Terre des Hommes presented the general objective of the BEEOOLGO project, which aims to reduce the vulnerability of populations to crises and disasters in displacement areas and those exposed to security and climate risks sustainably.
Conclusion
The President of COPROSUR du Passoré, Daouda Sangaré, expressed his delight with the participation of stakeholders and the relevance of the communications, thanking the technical and financial partner, the NGO Terre des Hommes, for facilitating the holding of the session.
