Corey Shaun Leads PGA TOUR Q-School by Five Strokes After Opening 61
Shaun Chases PGA TOUR Dream Fueled by Simplicity and a swing Thought
Florida – Shaun is a man on a mission. The UCLA alum has crisscrossed the country in recent weeks, fueled by a newfound simplicity in his swing and a burning desire to earn his PGA TOUR card.
“I’m not exactly sure how I’m doing it,” Shaun admitted Thursday when asked about his energy levels. “But something clicked at First Stage of Q-School, and I’ve been riding that wave ever since.”
That “something” was a swing thought that unlocked a new level of consistency in his game. The longtime golf enthusiast and self-proclaimed tinkerer has channeled this newfound simplicity into a remarkable two-month run.
Shaun’s journey began with a stellar performance at Second Stage Q-School, where he secured a solo second-place finish, seven strokes inside the cut line. This notable showing guaranteed him conditional Korn Ferry tour status for 2025, but Shaun’s sights were set higher.
He took a brief respite, enjoying a relaxing weekend at home with his girlfriend.”I made sure to treat her to lunch and dinner,” Shaun saeid with a smile. “I felt bad for being away so much.”
Refreshed and recharged, Shaun flew across the country to Florida for the Final Stage of PGA TOUR Q-School. With his DP World Tour membership already secured, he was free to focus solely on achieving his ultimate goal: a PGA TOUR card.
“The top five and ties this week,” Shaun stated, his eyes gleaming with determination. “That’s what I’m here for.”
