Cork Airport has announced a new year-long partnership with Uber to enhance transport options for arriving passengers, aiming to streamline journeys to and from the airport through pre-booking capabilities and flight tracking integration.

The collaboration, launched in April 2026, allows passengers to prebook their Uber rides via the app, which uses built-in flight tracking technology to notify drivers of any delays or changes to arrival times. This feature is designed to reduce uncertainty for travellers by aligning vehicle dispatch with actual flight status.

Peter Walsh, head of finance and property at Cork Airport, described the initiative as “an important step in enhancing the passenger experience at Cork Airport,” emphasizing that Uber’s dependable service and user-friendly booking platform offer greater flexibility and convenience from the moment passengers arrive in the city.

Kieran Harte, general manager at Uber Ireland, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that Cork has become one of Uber’s fastest-growing cities in Ireland, with increasing numbers of residents and visitors choosing the service for its speed, reliability, and convenience. He stated that the collaboration aims to make it “even easier for passengers to get moving the moment they land.”

The partnership focuses on raising awareness of Uber’s availability for inbound travellers, particularly those seeking onward transportation after landing. By integrating real-time flight data, the service adjusts dynamically to schedule changes, minimizing wait times and improving coordination between airport arrivals and ground transport.

Officials from both organizations highlighted the joint effort as a response to growing demand for seamless travel experiences. Leonard Miller and Rachel O’Toole from the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA), which operates Cork Airport, were present at the launch event alongside Mr. Walsh, and Mr. Harte.

The agreement reflects a broader trend of airports partnering with ride-hailing platforms to improve first- and last-mile connectivity. For Cork Airport, the collaboration supports its ongoing efforts to modernize passenger services and strengthen its position as a key regional gateway in southern Ireland.
