Kurt and Sheena, who have made Glengarriff their home, are now looking towards new horizons, armed with a wealth of experience and a desire to continue contributing to the world. their future plans include offering their expertise as environmental design consultants, alongside their passion for art and design.
The family’s creative spirit is evident in their daughters’ endeavors. Eldest daughter Kloe,born in the Middle East,has followed in her parents’ footsteps. Inspired by their dedication to the environment, she now runs “Two Green Shoots,” a venture focused on designing gardens and leading edible foraging tours within the breathtaking temperate rainforest adjacent to The Ewe Experience. Simultaneously occurring, Eliza, born in Costa Rica, channels her nurturing spirit into her work as a dedicated occupational therapist in Norwich, England, focusing on helping people thrive.
Giving Back: A Season of Generosity
In true Glengarriff fashion, Kurt and Sheena are ensuring that their final season at the Ewe Experience is marked by a profound commitment to giving back. Four cherished charities will benefit from the proceeds of their last season: UNICEF, Cork Cancer Research, The Alzheimer’s Society, and Bantry Hospice.
Visitors can contribute to these worthy causes through various avenues. Numerous items will be available for sale, with all proceeds going directly to the selected charities. Additionally, two wishing wells within the garden offer another opportunity for donations, with The Ewe Experience generously pledging to match every contribution made.
Artful Farewells and future Exhibitions
The on-site gallery will feature meaningful reductions of up to 40% on artworks by artist Sheena, offering a final chance to acquire a piece of The Ewe Experience’s artistic legacy. The couple is also busy preparing for a new exhibition titled ‘The Ewe Goes to The City,’ which will open in early September upstairs at the Quay Co-Op on Sullivan’s Quay.
“Many unseen textiles, ceramics, paintings and surprises will be on show. Some pieces have been specially created for the exhibition, and all proceeds from sales will go to gaza,” saeid Sheena, highlighting the exhibition’s charitable focus.
A Heartfelt Thank You
As they prepare to close the chapter on The Ewe Experience, Kurt expressed the couple’s deep appreciation for their visitors. “We’ve had three generations of loyal visitors coming and we’re looking forward to having a chance to say farewell before closing the gate for the last time,” he shared.
In a final gesture of gratitude, all sculptures within the garden will also be available for purchase at greatly reduced prices.This offers a unique opportunity for patrons to take a piece of The Ewe Experience home with them, forever cherishing the memories created within its magical grounds.
