A surge in pub sales is underway in Cork City, Ireland, with landmark venues Reidy’s Vault Bar and Bull McCabe’s recently changing ownership. The sale of The Grange bar is also nearing completion, and Paddy the Farmers pub/restaurant has accepted an offer of €1.9 million, according to reports from April 2nd and 3rd, 2026.
The uptick in pub disposals follows a strong start to the hospitality investment market in 2026, which began with the sale of The Wilton bar for more than €3 million to Cork-based publican Paul Montgomery, who operates multiple venues in the city.
Reidy’s Vault and Bull McCabe’s Transactions
Reidy’s Vault Bar – Wine & Spirit Store and Beer Garden, located on Western Road in Cork City, has been sold to established restaurant operators who plan to open their second city restaurant at the 15 Lancaster Quay/Western Rd venue before the end of the year. Details regarding the sale price of Reidy’s Vault were not immediately available.
Bull McCabe’s has also been sold, with a change of use planned for the venue. The buyers are local developers, and the sale of The Grange by the Reidy family, who have a long involvement in the city’s licensed trade, is expected to close for well in excess of its €1 million guide price.
Other Recent Hospitality Deals
In addition to these pub sales, an offer of €1.9 million has been accepted for Paddy the Farmers pub/restaurant. Advanced talks are also underway with a Dublin-based restaurant operator regarding Tequila Jack’s, a Mexican restaurant and tequila bar on Lapps Quay, which is guiding at €1.3 million.

These transactions indicate a robust demand for hospitality properties in Cork City, with both publicans and restaurant operators actively seeking to expand their presence in the area.
Market Context
The wave of pub sales comes amidst a broader trend of investment in the Irish hospitality sector. The strong start to 2026, highlighted by the sale of The Wilton for over €3 million, suggests continued confidence in the market. The interest from Dublin-based operators, such as the potential buyer for Tequila Jack’s, also points to a wider regional appeal for Cork’s hospitality scene.
The changing hands of established venues like Reidy’s Vault and Bull McCabe’s signals potential shifts in the city’s nightlife and dining landscape. The planned change of use for Bull McCabe’s, in particular, suggests a diversification of property use within Cork City’s commercial districts.
The Reidy family’s sale of The Grange, after a long involvement in the city’s licensed trade, marks a significant change for a well-known establishment. The expected sale price exceeding €1 million underscores the value of prime hospitality locations in Cork.
