Councilwoman Heather Hutt to Celebrate Historic Election with Community Swearing-In Ceremony
Los Angeles, CA – Councilwoman Heather Hutt, making history as the first woman elected to represent Council District 10, invites the community to celebrate her official swearing-in ceremony. The event will take place on Friday, December 13th, at 7:00 PM at First AME Church, located at 2270 S. harvard Blvd. in Los Angeles.This free, public event offers residents a chance to witness this momentous occasion and connect with their newly elected representative. councilwoman Hutt,a dedicated public servant for over three decades,brings a wealth of experience to her role. Prior to her election, she served as the first Black U.S. Senate State Director in California’s history.
“It is truly an honor to know that the people of my community have put their trust in me to lead them on our City Council,” said Hutt. “This community Swearing-In Ceremony is a chance for our community to come together to celebrate the future of Council District 10, and the steps forward we will take together.”
As assuming her position in 2022, Councilwoman Hutt has been a tireless advocate for her constituents. Her accomplishments include a 13% reduction in homelessness within the district, the creation of new green spaces, and the progress of initiatives to strengthen renter protections and enhance public safety.
As the only Black woman currently serving on the los Angeles City Council, Councilwoman Hutt’s leadership represents a critically important milestone for representation and inclusivity in local government.
