Countdown to Glory: 4 Hours to Go in the 2024 FIM EWC Bol d’Or 24 Hours
2024 FIM EWC Rd.4 Bol d’Or 24 Hours: Final Report
With less than four hours remaining in the 2024 FIM EWC Rd.4 24 Hours of Bol d’Or, the standings have seen a dramatic shift due to a series of issues among the top contenders.
The #37 BMW MOTORRAD WORLD ENDURANCE TEAM (BMW, DL) experienced mechanical problems, forcing them to return to the pits. After a 15-minute repair, they rejoined the track in 7th place but stopped again 25 minutes later. Despite managing to return to the pit lane, white smoke emanated from the car, necessitating further repairs.
TEAM ÉTOILE #25 (BMW, DL), led by a Japanese driver, also encountered problems. While fighting for first place in the SST class and a potential overall podium finish, their car stopped on the course, ultimately ending their race.
The #5 FCC TSR HONDA FRANCE (Ho, BS) car stopped at T9, temporarily dropping to 41st place due to issues. However, the team persevered, returning to 5th place before ultimately ending their season.
Despite these setbacks, the #12 YOSHIMURA SERT MOTUL (Su, BS) team steadily accumulated laps, maintaining their lead.
