Country singer-songwriter Ashley McBryde is preparing to release her fifth studio album, Wild, on May 8, 2026. The upcoming project, released through Warner Music Nashville, marks a sonic shift for the artist as she leans into her individuality and departs from traditional country music molds.

The album was recorded live with McBryde’s touring band, Deadhorse, and features the return of producer John Osborne. The pair previously collaborated on her 2022 project, Lindeville.

A Narrative of Recovery

The creative direction of Wild is closely tied to McBryde’s personal journey with sobriety and mental health. In a March 2026 appearance on The BobbyCast, McBryde discussed the critical moments when her struggle with alcohol reached a breaking point, noting that her songwriting eventually forced her to admit she was not okay.

Reporting from Country 103.7 on March 10, 2026, highlighted that the Arkansas native will celebrate four years of sobriety this year. McBryde has been open about the severity of her addiction, stating in that report that I was going to die had she not made the decision to seek help.

This period of recovery is central to the themes of the new album, which traces a narrative building toward a pivotal moment in her life. The music serves as a reflection of her survival and her decision to move forward with a renewed sense of self.

Album Details and Rollout

The album consists of 11 songs and has been preceded by several releases. The lead single, What If We Don’t, set the tone for the project, followed by promotional singles including Rattlesnake Preacher, Arkansas Mud, and Bottle Tells Me So.

The site currently tracks the unlocking of 11 different patches, each corresponding to a song on the album.

The project follows a prolific stretch for McBryde, who has released four previous studio albums, including Girl Going Nowhere (2018), Never Will (2020), Lindeville (2022), and The Devil I Know (2023). With Wild, she continues to challenge the boundaries of the country genre while centering her work on raw, personal storytelling.
