A Canadian couple, Brad and Anita Squires, from Bell Island in Newfoundland, experienced a heartwarming reunion in Ireland after a message in a bottle they sent out years ago washed ashore. The bottle, containing a love note penned by anita, traveled over 3,000 kilometers across the Atlantic Ocean before being discovered on a north Kerry beach.

Kate and Jon Gay discovered the bottle while walking their dog on Scraggane Bay on July 7th. After some difficulty extracting the note – even resorting to chopsticks – they finally opened it to reveal a charming message from the past.
The handwritten note read: “Anita & Brad day trip to Bell Island today, we enjoyed dinner, this bottle of wine and each other, at the edge of this island.” Intrigued by the story behind the message, Kate and Jon attempted to contact the couple using the phone number provided in the note, but were unsuccessful.
