“We’ve been holding vaccination drives,” Tlatehui said, referencing a recent event in the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood. “We’re offering⁣ influenza, COVID-19, and pneumococcal vaccines completely free of charge. People are asking⁢ for ‍more locations for these drives,so we’re planning to expand our reach.”

The DIF is committed to providing these vital services to the community, ⁣ensuring that anyone who wants a vaccine or needs a test ⁤can access them.

Tlatehui noted that the DIF currently receives‍ an average of five requests for COVID-19 tests and vaccines per month, a important drop from⁣ the ⁢peak of⁣ the pandemic.

Beyond COVID-19 support, the DIF is also focused on helping vulnerable populations cope with the approaching winter.

“We have programs⁢ to support all sectors of the population, including those experiencing homelessness,” tlatehui explained.⁤ “While we haven’t had any individuals seeking assistance in this category yet this administration, we have initiatives in place to protect them from the cold.”

The DIF’s winter assistance program‍ includes the ⁤distribution of over 1,500 blankets to those in need.
