Cristiano Ronaldo Sets ‌Record ‍with 1 Billion Social ⁢Media⁣ Followers

Cristiano Ronaldo, the‍ ‘superstar’ of the soccer world, has made‌ history by becoming the ‌first person to surpass 1 billion followers ⁢on social⁤ media accounts.

On September 13th,‍ Ronaldo announced‍ through social media platforms, ‍including Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), ⁢that the total⁤ number of followers exceeded 1 billion. This milestone is the combined number of followers on Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and Chinese social media platforms such⁣ as ⁣Weibo and Kuaishou.

Major media outlets, including the BBC in the UK, reported that Ronaldo was the first person to reach ‘1 billion⁣ followers’. ‍With⁣ over 900 goals ⁢scored for his club‌ and national team, Ronaldo has also established himself as a top star on social media.

Ronaldo⁤ has an impressive following on various social media platforms,‌ with over 639 million followers on⁣ Instagram alone, 170 million‌ on Facebook, ⁢and 113 million‍ on X. ⁣His recent launch of YouTube ⁣has‌ been a significant factor in achieving ⁤the ‘1 ‍billion follower’ mark. Ronaldo’s popularity on social media far surpasses that of other celebrities, not just in⁤ football but also in other fields. Actress‍ and singer Selena Gomez ‌is next with⁢ 690 million followers, followed‍ by Ronaldo’s long-time rival Lionel Messi (Inter Miami) ⁤with 623 million. Pop stars Justin Bieber (607 million) and Taylor Swift ⁢(574 million) ⁣also fall short of Ronaldo’s record.

Ronaldo expressed his gratitude and feelings in a post on Instagram and other platforms, saying, “A billion followers, it’s not just a number, it’s a testament to the‍ passion and drive we share, our⁤ love for ‍the game and beyond.” He emphasized, “From ⁤the streets of‍ Madeira to the world’s ‍biggest stages, ‌I’ve always played ⁣for my family and you, and now a⁤ billion of ‍us are ⁢doing it together.”

“You have been with me every ⁣step of the way, through the twists and ⁣turns.
