Leocenis García Arrested by Bolivarian National Intelligence Service
Leocenis García, the coordinator of Prociudadanos and a former presidential candidate, was arrested by agents of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) on Thursday afternoon.
The news of his arrest was shared by his sister, María Lucía García, on the X social network early Friday morning. According to María, Leocenis was detained by Sebin officers in La Castellana, Caracas.
María stated that her brother would be accused of “terrorism” due to a video he posted on social media, in which he claimed that the government had “provoked” the National Constitution and alleged “electoral fraud” on July 28.
Leocenis García, who is facing opposition from Edmundo González, emphasized that despite his current situation, the “seven million votes” that were defeated would not be silenced. He noted, “They have put a man on the plane, but not the seven million votes of theirs that they have defeated.”
