Cracking Down on Animal Abuse: Xiangqiao District Launches Surprise Inspections on Narcotic Use in Veterinary Clinics
Xiangqiao District Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau Conducts Special Inspections on Narcotic Drugs in Animal Clinics
On August 27, the Xiangqiao District Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau and the Xiangqiao Branch of the Chaozhou Public Security Bureau conducted special inspections on narcotic drugs in animal treatment institutions within their jurisdiction. The goal of the inspections was to regulate the business order of narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs in these institutions and to prevent these substances from flowing into illegal channels.
During the inspections, the team checked the drug procurement channels and sales records of the animal treatment institutions, verifying that the procurement channels were legal and that the purchase, acceptance, and storage conditions met the required standards. The team also emphasized the importance of strict control over the procurement and sales channels to prevent the unauthorized entry of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances into the market.

A total of eight animal clinics were inspected, and while all units were found to be implementing the purchase, storage, and use of narcotic drugs in accordance with regulations, some issues were identified, such as incomplete drug registration records. The inspection team ordered the relevant units to correct these issues immediately. The inspections served to enhance the drug prevention awareness of owners and practitioners of animal clinics in the jurisdiction and to strengthen measures for controlling narcotic drugs, ensuring their legal and standardized use.
