Creighton Women’s Basketball Dominates Syracuse 86-59 in Emerald Coast Classic Final
Creighton Women’s Basketball Triumphs Over Syracuse
On November 26, Creighton Women’s Basketball won the championship game of the Emerald Coast Classic Beach Bracket, defeating Syracuse 86-59. This victory improved Creighton’s record to 4-2, while Syracuse fell to 3-4.
Senior Lauren Jensen earned the Most Outstanding Player award for the tournament. Senior Morgan Maly also made the All-Tournament Team alongside Syracuse players Georgia Woolley and Kyra Wood, and Missouri’s Grace Slaughter.
Creighton started strong, hitting four three-pointers within two minutes and taking an early lead of 12-5. Jensen scored two threes, while Maly and Molly Mogensen added more. By the end of the first quarter, Creighton led 29-9, shooting 11-for-16.
In the first half, Creighton dominated with a three-point shooting performance, finishing 12-for-15. At halftime, they led 54-21.
In the second half, Syracuse focused on inside scoring, but Creighton maintained their lead, extending it to 39 points, reaching 72-33 late in the third quarter. Creighton ultimately coasted to victory.
Maly led Creighton with 28 points, moving into 9th place in Creighton history with 1,608 career points. Jensen added 21 points, placing 11th in Bluejay history with 1,600 points. Syracuse’s top scorer was Keira Scott with 11 points.
Next, Creighton will play Tulsa in a road game on Sunday, December 1 at 1:00 PM (CT) on ESPN2.

- Morgan Maly became the fourth BIG EAST player since 2009-10 to shoot 100% from three-point range with six or more attempts.
- This is the first time Creighton Women’s Basketball won back-to-back non-conference games by 25 or more points since 2015.
