Crew-11 Astronauts Return to Earth After Medical Issue Mission
- An unforeseen health issue on the International Space Station (ISS) forced NASA to change plans and bring forward the return of Crew-11.
- Preparations began at the end of last week, shortly after the return date was announced, with the astronauts organizing their belongings and finalizing some of their scientific experiments.
- Yesterday, at 17:20 (22:20 Lisbon time), the SpaceX Dragon capsule, which was docked to the Harmony module, departed from the ISS with the four astronauts inside.
An unforeseen health issue on the International Space Station (ISS) forced NASA to change plans and bring forward the return of Crew-11. After a journey of approximately 10 hours,the crew,consisting of Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke (NASA),Kimiya Yui (JAXA) and Oleg Platonov (Roscosmos),has now returned to Earth.

Preparations began at the end of last week, shortly after the return date was announced, with the astronauts organizing their belongings and finalizing some of their scientific experiments. Earlier this week, Mike Fincke handed over command of the ISS to Russian astronaut Sergey Kud-Sverchkov.

Yesterday, at 17:20 (22:20 Lisbon time), the SpaceX Dragon capsule, which was docked to the Harmony module, departed from the ISS with the four astronauts inside. Hours later, at 03:41 (08:41 Lisbon time), the capsule made it’s “splashdown” near the coast of California.
It should be noted that Crew-11 arrived at the ISS in August, with the aim of staying there for a period of six months. The early return is the first time in the 25 years of ISS history that a mission has been interrupted due to a
