Portugal and Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo has officially married his longtime partner, Argentine model Georgina Rodríguez, in a private civil ceremony held on Aug. 11, 2026, in the coastal Portuguese town of Cascais, according to a representative for the player and reports from international news outlets including Agence France-Presse.

The intimate ceremony took place approximately 20 miles west of Lisbon, attended by the couple’s five children, as confirmed by a spokesperson quoted by British media outlets. A representative for Ronaldo stated that the marriage was finalized during a private gathering, avoiding massive public crowds.

Ronaldo shared the news with his followers on Instagram by posting a photograph of the couple’s hands intertwined, displaying their wedding bands. The post was captioned with the initials “C❤G”, referencing their first names, and quickly surpassed one million reactions within minutes of publication.

Avoiding Public Speculation and Crowds in Madeira

Prior to the announcement, widespread speculation suggested the nuptials might take place in Funchal Cathedral on the island of Madeira, Ronaldo’s birthplace. Thousands of supporters gathered outside the cathedral over the weekend hoping to catch a glimpse of the Portuguese captain and Rodríguez.

According to regional reports, however, the ceremony observed at the Madeira location involved another couple from the island. Ronaldo and Rodríguez chose instead to host their civil union away from public view in Cascais.
