Russia alleges Ukraine’s role in crocus City Hall attack

Russian law enforcement has concluded its inquiry into the deadly Crocus City Hall attack, asserting the mass shooting was carried out “in the interests” of Ukraine. The Investigative Committee, which probes major crimes, claims the attack, which caused an estimated 6 billion rubles ($76.4 million) in damages, was planned to destabilize Russia.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the March 22, 2024, attack, where four gunmen killed 149 people and wounded 609 others. Though, Russian investigators maintain that 19 alleged perpetrators, accomplices, and arms suppliers were members of ISIS-K, an Islamic State affiliate active in Central and South Asia, but acted on behalf of Ukraine.
