Croke Park Wins Drinmore Novice Chase

Croke Park won the Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Chase at Fairyhouse. He claimed victory after a tough battle, finishing just ahead by a neck. Trainer Gordon Elliott had three horses in the race, while Henry de Bromhead had two.

Sam Ewing rode Croke Park, who was the 22-1 outsider, against the stablemate Firefox, the favorite at even odds. After nearly two and a half miles, Croke Park faced strong challenges from Firefox, Heart Wood, and Gorgeous Tom but held on for the win.

Elliott praised Ewing’s ride, stating, "Those are the races you want to see." He noted all three of his horses performed well, with Firefox narrowly missing out on victory. Croke Park’s win marked a significant turnaround, as he had previously disappointed in races.

Naturally Nimble Upsets in Juvenile Hurdle

In another race, Naturally Nimble surprised many by beating the 1-4 favorite Willy De Houelle in the Bar One Racing Juvenile Hurdle. Richard Deegan rode Naturally Nimble, who was a 33-1 underdog. Although he had struggled on his debut, he showed improvement and secured victory by a length and a half.

Deegan commented on the race, saying it fell into their favor as they capitalized on the competition’s fading pace. Naturally Nimble is now a 20-1 chance for the JCB Triumph Hurdle.

Tounsivator Triumphs in Royal Bond Novice Hurdle

Willie Mullins’ Tounsivator won the Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle, defeating four stablemates. Tounsivator, a 12-1 shot, overcame Gordon Elliott’s favored horse, Romeo Coolio, who was the 1-2 favorite. Tounsivator took control in the final stages and won by two and a half lengths.

Mullins expressed satisfaction with Tounsivator’s performance, noting that his prior summer races might have given him a fitness edge. The trainer is pleased with the horse’s progress and is looking forward to future races.
