Cuban Government Sells Chinese Trucks for Almost $30,000

Cimex Offers Chinese KYC F3 Pickup trucks in Cuba for $29,950

Cuba’s state-run Cimex corporation began⁤ selling Chinese-made KYC​ model F3⁢ pickup trucks for $29,950, according to reports ‌from the Cuban News Agency (ACN). The vehicles are available at the Cimex agency located on Calle 20,between Primera ⁤and Tercera streets,in ⁢the Playa⁣ municipality.

The trucks are intended for both commercial and personal use. They have a maximum payload capacity ​of 745 kilograms (1,643 pounds),seating for five,and ‍a 1.6-liter engine.

cimex describes the KYC F3 as a light-duty, double-cabin pickup with a manual transmission and ⁤4×2 drive.It’s designed for daily operations⁢ and urban and intercity travel.

The KYC F3 is primarily distributed in latin America and Asia, with both gasoline ​and diesel versions available. Engine options include a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine producing ⁢114 horsepower.

Compared to‌ other Chinese ⁢pickups ​available in the region, such as the Foton Tunland ​and the JAC T8, the KYC F3 has a lower payload capacity,⁤ making ⁢it better suited for medium-duty tasks rather than heavy-duty applications.

Cimex⁣ stated that adding ⁢the KYC F3 to its offerings is ​part of a broader strategy to diversify Cuba’s automotive ⁤market through agreements with international manufacturers.

Recently, Cibercuba reported that Cimex also began offering Geely‍ vehicles for‍ sale, though ⁤at ⁢substantially higher prices.
