However, reserve player Lindy Waters III provided a much-needed spark, scoring 9 points in the quarter and leading the team on a 12-2 run to narrow the deficit to 4 points by halftime.
The Warriors’ offense ignited in the third quarter, with the team making 14 of 19 three-pointers and scoring 40 points. New teammate Buddy Hield took over the game, making all four of his three-point attempts and scoring 19 points in the quarter. The Pelicans, who had previously been in control, lost momentum and were unable to recover.
In terms of statistics, the Warriors’ Buddy Hield led the team with 28 points, while Brandin Podzemski and Moses Moody each contributed 19 points. Lindy Waters III added 21 points and 8 rebounds. For the Pelicans, Zion Williamson scored a game-high 26 points and 31 rebounds, while Brandon Ingram scored 8 points and CJ McCollum scored 30 points.
