The “Cătălina Buzoianu” Directing Festival brought together a selection of Romanian shows staged by female directors from all over the country, representing contemporary female artistic concerns.
The festival aimed to promote a change of perspective, necessary in today’s society, and to encourage a meeting of different visions, scenic aesthetics, themes, devices, and ways of working, complemented by a feminine sensibility.
The performances addressed various themes, including human suffering, education, emotional development, challenges of adult life, gender relations, tolerance, and acceptance of differences.
The jury decided not to award a Best Show Award, instead recognizing the talent of individual artists involved in the creations presented on the Ice stage.
The selection of performances was ensured by theater director Oana Bors, a university lecturer and Ph.D. at the National University of Theater and Cinematography “ILCaragiale” Bucharest.
The National Theater of Iasi congratulates all participants of the “Cătălina Buzoianu” Directing Festival and thanks them for their openness and energy throughout the event.
