Cusset’s tennis de table club has concluded the Allier championship with a resounding success, solidifying a strong season for the team. The club’s performance at the recent championships, held at the Complexe de la Raquette in Yzeure on and , saw them claim the Challenge Revidon, marking them as the most successful club at the competition.
A total of 166 players participated in the Allier Championships, competing first by point category on Saturday and then by age category on Sunday. The Sunday event served as a qualifier for the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes regional finals, scheduled for and in Saint-Egrève for youth categories – Poussins, Benjamins, Minimes, Cadets, and Juniors. The senior women’s and men’s finals are slated for and in Ceyrat.
The club’s success wasn’t limited to the overall Challenge Revidon win. Several Cusset players distinguished themselves in individual categories. Tristan Chambonniere took first place in the Poussins (under 9 years) category, defeating Téo Diard of TT Commentry. In the Benjamins (under 11 years) division, Maxime Bougerol (TT Commentry) emerged victorious, followed by Nael Diard (TT Commentry). Ryad Salamani secured the top spot in the Minimes Garçons (under 13 years) category, with Roméo Bouton (ASTT Montbeugny Auvergne) finishing as runner-up. Jeanne Thetier claimed victory in the Minimes Filles (under 13 years) category, ahead of Célia Renoux (TT Lapalisse).
The Cadets (under 15 years) saw Lucas Brunet (TT Commentry) take first place, with Evann Lallier (ASPTT Montluçon) finishing second. Lisa Teyssot (ASC St Germain TT) won the Cadettes (under 15 years) category, followed by Cathie Marques (TT Lapalisse). Fanny Robert (ASPTT Montluçon) and Yoenne Harivel (ASPTT Montluçon) finished first and second respectively in the Juniors Filles (under 19 years) category. Corentin Ferreira (ASPTT Montluçon) topped the Juniors Garçons (under 19 years) division, with Mathieu D… completing the podium.
The Allier Championships also saw success for other clubs. Raphaël Laforgue (TT Lapalisse) won the category for players with under 799 points, defeating Thomas Schoettel (ASPTT Montluçon). Jules Cocca (ASPTT Montluçon) secured first place in the under 1199 points category, with Franck Chossidiere (ASC St Germain TT) as the runner-up. Quentin Marc (ASC St Germain TT) won the category for players with over 1200 points, followed by Emeric Trotez (TT Bourbon).
