Cyberpunk 2077 Getting More “Cool Stuff” in Surprise 2.2 Update
Cyberpunk 2077 Gets Surprise Update, But Don’t Expect PS5 Pro Support
Cyberpunk 2077 is getting another update, CD Projekt Red announced, surprising fans who thought the open-world RPG was done receiving major content additions. While details are scarce, the studio confirmed the 2.2 update won’t include highly anticipated features like PS5 Pro support or a new Game Plus mode.
The news broke on social media, with CD projekt Red teasing a livestream scheduled for Tuesday, december 10th at 4pm GMT on Twitch and YouTube. During the stream, developers will delve into the specifics of the 2.2 update, promising “cool stuff” for players.
Global community director Marcin Momot addressed fan speculation regarding PS5 Pro and New Game Plus support in a separate post, stating: “The answer is no. We do have some other cool stuff in the oven and we’ll talk about it tomorrow during the stream — we hope you’ll like it too!”
This isn’t the first time CD Projekt Red has dashed hopes for a PS5 Pro upgrade. Back in November, the studio confirmed it had “no plans” to release a dedicated patch for sony’s rumored console.
With the majority of the studio focused on the growth of the next Witcher game, which recently entered “full-scale production,” it’s unlikely the 2.2 update will be a major overhaul.
However, given CD Projekt Red’s commitment to addressing player feedback and refining Cyberpunk 2077, the update could focus on bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and smaller additions based on community requests.
Fans will have to tune in to the livestream tomorrow to discover what surprises CD Projekt Red has in store for Night City.
