Las Vegas, NV – A Tesla Cybertruck emerged relatively unscathed after an explosion outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday, prompting CEO Elon Musk to threaten legal action against media outlets he believes are spreading misinformation about the vehicle’s safety.

The incident occurred when an active-duty Army Special Forces soldier, identified as Matthew Livelsberger, detonated an explosive device inside the Cybertruck. Livelsberger died before the explosion, according to authorities.

“These evil idiots chose the wrong vehicle to carry out a terrorist attack,” Musk wrote on X,formerly known as Twitter, sharing a video of a police press conference. “The Cybertruck actually absorbed the impact of the blast and carried it upwards. The glass doors in the lobby were not even broken.”

Sergeant Kevin McMahill of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that the explosion “did not have the effect he (referring to the suspect) initially expected,” and that the Cybertruck largely contained the damage to the hotel lobby.

Despite the incident, conservative activist Robbie Starbuck took to X, claiming the Cybertruck was prone to spontaneous combustion, stating it would “spontaneously combust every 130 million miles, while other vehicles catch fire every 18 million miles.”

Musk responded with a terse,”Maybe it’s time to do that,” seemingly hinting at potential legal action against Starbuck and other media outlets spreading similar claims.

photos and videos from the scene show the Cybertruck, though visibly damaged, remained largely intact. The incident has reignited debate surrounding the Cybertruck’s safety and durability, with Musk using the event to highlight the vehicle’s resilience.

Eyewitness Account: A truck Built to Withstand

“It’s crazy! This guy, apparently an Army soldier, tried to blow himself up with a bomb inside a Tesla Cybertruck,” said Mark, a Las Vegas resident who witnessed the aftermath of the explosion.

“The truck took moast of the blast.it was pretty damaged, but the craziest thing is that it didn’t explode itself,” he added.

Mark described the scene as surreal, with the Cybertruck absorbing the brunt of the explosion and protecting the hotel lobby from notable damage.

“The police are saying the truck absorbed most of the impact. They showed a video on the news where the glass doors in the hotel lobby weren’t even broken,” Mark explained.

The incident has sparked conversations about the Cybertruck’s safety features and its ability to withstand extreme conditions.

“Elon Musk was all over Twitter bragging about it, calling them ‘evil idiots’ for choosing the wrong vehicle,” Mark said. “He even said something about legal action against media outlets spreading misinformation about the truck’s safety.”

The explosion has undoubtedly brought the Cybertruck into the spotlight, raising questions about its durability and safety while simultaneously fueling debate about the spread of misinformation online.

Did You Hear About the Explosion in Vegas?

sarah: Hey Jake, did you see what happened in Vegas? This crazy story about a Cybertruck and an explosion?

Jake:I saw something about it online, but I haven’t really looked into it.What’s the deal?

Sarah: Apparently, this Army guy tried too blow himself up inside a Cybertruck outside the Trump Hotel. Can you imagine?

Jake: Wow, seriously? What happened to the truck? I mean, we all know those things are supposed to be super tough, but…

Sarah: It was damaged, for sure, but it didn’t explode itself! Everyone is saying it actually absorbed most of the blast. The police even said the hotel lobby was barely touched!

Jake: No way! That’s insane. Did anyone get hurt besides the guy who, uh, you know…?

Sarah: Apparently he died before the explosion. The police are still investigating, of course. But Elon Musk, you know, the tesla guy, was all over Twitter about it.

Jake: what was Musk saying?

Sarah: He was calling the guy an “evil idiot” for picking the wrong vehicle to try this crazy stunt. He kept saying the Cybertruck is built to withstand anything. He even threatened to sue some people who spread rumors about the truck being unsafe.

Jake: Threaten to sue? That’s pretty intense. So, basically, the Cybertruck survived an explosion?

sarah:** Pretty much. It’s definitely generating a lot of buzz, both good and bad. Some people are saying it proves the Cybertruck is indestructible, while others are saying it’s all just a publicity stunt. Who knows? But it’s definitely a wild story!
