Cyclones Lead Wyoming Cowgirl Classic in Arizona

Iowa State women’s golf is currently leading the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa, Arizona, after the completion of the first two rounds of the tournament.

The Cyclones entered the competition ranked 22nd, marking a season-high ranking for the program. The event features a field of 21 teams, which represents the largest field the team has faced during the current season.

Tournament Field and Competition

As part of the field, Iowa State is competing against two other Big 12 conference opponents, BYU and Arizona State. The team arrives in Maricopa with significant momentum, having won two of their previous three tournaments.

The Wyoming Cowgirl Classic serves as the penultimate regular season event for the Cyclones. It is also the second consecutive tournament the team has played in the state of Arizona.

Player Rankings and Lineup

The Iowa State lineup for the event includes several high-ranking players. Pammy Chookaew entered the tournament ranked 49th. Nichakorn Pinprayoon also reached a career-high ranking, entering the competition at 97th.

Other players representing the Cyclones in the lineup include Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn and Alexandra Vidal.

Course Details

The competition is being held at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club. The facility is managed by Troon Golf and is located on 320 acres of the Ak-Chin Indian Reservation.
