Daihuohuo’s Compassionate Initiative: 9 Branches Serve Up Soft Meals for Seniors with Swallowing Difficulties
Happywoods Launches Soft Meals for Elderly People with Dysphagia
Fast food chain Happywoods is set to launch soft meals for people with dysphagia and the elderly, becoming the first fast food chain in Hong Kong to provide soft meals to the community. This initiative aims to help individuals with dysphagia regain the joy of mealtime, reduce the burden of meal preparation on caregivers, and raise awareness about dysphagia and soft meals.
The four soft meals, carefully developed over nearly two years, meet the standards of nursing care and International Dietary Standards for Dysphagia (IDDSI) Level 4. The initial offerings include “Ahuo Curry Chicken Rice” and “Fresh Tomato Pork Chop Rice,” which will be available at 9 designated branches starting next Tuesday. The remaining two options, “Aho Creamy Corn Pork Rice” and “Pineapple Sweet and Sour Pork Rice,” will be launched in October, priced at 58 yuan.
To promote this new initiative, Happywoods will offer a food tasting discount, providing customers with a 10 yuan coupon when they purchase a box of soft meals. Additionally, the company will set up “mobile swallowing assessment stations” in different branches, where speech therapists will conduct swallowing assessments for those in need and educate the public about dysphagia and soft meals.
