dallas, TX – While much of the U.S. anticipates a milder winter thanks to the La Niña weather pattern, residents of Dallas-Fort Worth should prepare for a season with near-average temperatures and a higher chance of chilly spells.
Local Forecast Defies National Trend
the Univision Noticias 23 weather team, led by meteorologist Nelly Carreño, predicts a winter that will deviate from the national trend. While La Niña typically brings drier and warmer conditions across the U.S., North Texas may experience colder temperatures than usual.
“Even though La Niña is expected to influence weather patterns nationwide, our local forecast suggests a slightly different story for Dallas-Fort Worth,” Carreño explained. “We anticipate near-average temperatures but residents should be prepared for periods of colder weather throughout the season.”
Preparing for a Potentially Chilly Winter
The forecast comes as a reminder for Texans to stay prepared for the unpredictable nature of winter weather. While a major snowstorm may be unlikely, residents are advised to have winter essentials on hand, such as warm clothing, blankets, and emergency supplies.
“We do tend to have our own microclimate here in Dallas,” said local resident Maria Gomez.“It makes sense to be prepared, just in case.”
Carreño advises residents to have their winter essentials ready. “Even though a major snowstorm might not be likely, it’s always better to be safe than sorry,” she said.
Dallas Braces for Unexpectedly Chilly Winter
Sarah: Hey David, did you see that news about Dallas possibly having a colder winter than expected?
David: I did! It’s interesting, considering a lot of the US is predicted to have a milder winter due to La Niña.
Sarah: Exactly! Apparently,Nelly Carreño,a meteorologist from Univision Noticias 23, [3] says our local forecast might be a bit different. She’s predicting near-average temperatures but warns us to expect those chilly spells.
David: Makes sense. Dallas always seems to have its own weather quirks, right?
Sarah: Totally! [3] They even quoted a resident, Maria Gomez, who saeid Dallas has kind of its own microclimate.
David: I remember last year, they were talking about La Niña too,but it ended up being pretty mild here. Shoudl we expect the same this time?
Sarah:
It sounds like Nelly Carreño [3] is saying not necessarily. Even though La Niña usually means drier and milder winters for most of the country, Dallas could be an exception.
David: Hmm, well, better safe than sorry, right? Winter essentials it is!
Sarah: Definitely! Especially since she mentioned we might see those colder periods throughout the season.
