Dame Products, a sexual wellness company, introduced⁢ a unique approach to address the impact⁣ of tariffs on its business. The company implemented a “Trump tariff surcharge,” a $5 fee, on customer orders.

Alexandra Fine, CEO of Dame Products, said the company aimed for openness with its customers regarding the financial challenges posed by tariffs, which is why they implemented the surcharge. The surcharge included an image⁤ of ⁢a wig resembling President Donald Trump’s hair.

Fine explained that most of Dame’s vibrators and hardware‍ products‍ are produced in China, and even U.S.-made items have been affected by the tariffs. The fluctuating tariff rates prompted the company to take action.

According to⁢ fine, the tariffs have significantly impacted dame’s cash flow, more than doubling the amount of money needed for planned inventory purchases this year.

“The actions that we’ve taken at Dame weren’t politically motivated. they were motivated by transparency,” Fine said.
