Matt Damon appeared on Saturday Night Live in a sketch featuring a trailer for a fictional Mother’s Day film titled Mom, which is presented as a production purposefully designed to be completely devoid of conflict, suspense and dramatic tension, according to reporting from Rolling Stone.

The sketch, which aired on May 10, 2026, satirizes the concept of an entirely inoffensive movie where nothing bad happens. The trailer depicts a scenario that the voiceover suggests mothers everywhere would find enjoyable.

A Plot Without Conflict

The narrative of the fictional film centers on an empty-nester mother, played by Ashley Padilla, residing in a large home. The primary plot development occurs when her three adult children visit her to announce that they are all moving back into the house.

To emphasize the lack of cinematic tension, the trailer highlights a scene where a daughter expresses concern that a major pickleball tournament is scheduled at the same time as her baby shower. The mother remains unbothered, simply informing her daughter that they’re on different days while sipping coffee.

The Role of the Ideal Husband
