Danny Briggs Returns to Sussex in Player-Coach Role

Sussex has signed‌ veteran ​spin ‌bowler Danny Briggs from Warwickshire on a three-year deal, ⁤effective at the end of the 2025 season. Briggs, 34, returns to Sussex in a player-coach role after a five-year absence. He previously played for the team from⁤ 2016 to 2020 and will be available for the T20 Blast.

Briggs is⁤ the T20 Blast’s leading wicket taker with 246 wickets. Last season, he‌ took⁣ 29 wickets, ‌helping ​the Bears reach the quarter-final.

“I’m really ‌looking forward to coming back to⁢ Sussex,” Briggs said. “It’s a really ⁢talented and exciting​ squad playing some great cricket. Hopefully I ‌can help​ contribute to plenty of wins and trophies along the way.‌ Hove is a⁣ special ground and I ‌can’t wait to return.”
