A woman who played a central role in orchestrating a fatal acid attack on her ex-husband has been found guilty of manslaughter and attempted kidnap at Winchester Crown Court. Paris Wilson, 35, was cleared of murder by a jury on Thursday, May 14, 2026, following an 18-week trial regarding the death of Danny Cahalane.
The prosecution presented evidence that Wilson, a former criminal justice worker from Plymouth, helped facilitate the attack that occurred on February 21, 2025. Jurors were told that Wilson knowingly passed information regarding the movements of Mr. Cahalane to a Dubai-based drugs boss identified as Ryan Kennedy, who is also known as Frost.
The court heard that Mr. Cahalane, a 38-year-old personal trainer and drug dealer, owed £120,000 to Kennedy. Prosecutors argued that Wilson knew exactly what was coming
and was prepared to allow the attack to proceed. In a detail presented during the trial, the court heard that Wilson had made a direct threat to Mr. Cahalane just four days before the incident.
According to the prosecution, Wilson told Mr. Cahalane:
I hope you and your butters girl both end up with acid in your facesWinchester Crown Court
During the early morning hours of February 21, 2025, two men entered Mr. Cahalane’s home on Lipson Road in Plymouth and doused him with sulphuric acid. He suffered catastrophic injuries during the ambush and remained in the hospital for several weeks before passing away on May 3, 2025.
Verdicts for other defendants
The jury returned several other verdicts involving multiple defendants from London and Plymouth. While Wilson was acquitted of murder, other participants in the case received more severe convictions. Abdulrasheed Adedoja, 23, and Israel Augustus, 26, were both found guilty of murder. However, both Adedoja and Augustus were found not guilty of attempted kidnapping.

Ramarnee Bakas, 23, of London, was also found guilty of manslaughter. Unlike Wilson, Bakas was not convicted of attempted kidnap. The jury also returned guilty verdicts for attempted kidnap for Jean Mukuna, 24, and Arrone Mukuna, 25, both of whom are from London.
Additional convictions were handed down to Isanah Sungum, 22, of Edmonton, London. The jury found Sungum guilty of being part of an organised crime gang, though she was cleared of both murder and the alternative charge of manslaughter.
Several other individuals were acquitted of the charges brought against them. Jude Hill, 44, of Plymouth, was found not guilty of both murder and manslaughter. Brian Kalemba, 23, of Barking, London, was also cleared of the charge of being part of an organised crime gang.
Trial details and next steps
The legal proceedings concluded after an 18-week trial at Winchester Crown Court. The case detailed a complex connection between the local attack in Plymouth and an organised crime element linked to Ryan Kennedy in Dubai. The jury’s decision on the manslaughter and attempted kidnap charges for Wilson follows months of deliberation regarding her level of involvement in the planning of the attack.
A sentencing date for the convicted individuals has yet to be confirmed by the court.
