Marvel Studios’ “Daredevil: Born Again” has struggled to meet streaming performance expectations despite a strong initial launch, according to recent viewership data and industry analysis.
The series debuted with 7.5 million views in its first five days on Disney+, marking the platform’s biggest premiere of the first half of the year. However, this figure fell short of other recent Marvel releases such as “Agatha All Along,” which garnered 9.3 million views in its first seven days, and “Loki: Season 2,” which achieved 10.9 million views in just three days.
Third-party measurement from Nielsen revealed further concerns, as the show failed to appear in the Top 10 originals or overall streaming numbers during its weekly run and for two to three weeks afterward. This pattern suggests limited weekly viewership and minimal binge-watching appeal following episodes’ release.
During the second season’s premiere week in March 2026, “Daredevil: Born Again” did not reach the Top 10, with the tenth spot held by “Peaky Blinders” at 449 million minutes watched. The week was dominated by “Beauty in Black” with 1.36 billion minutes, followed by “The Pitt” at 1.208 billion minutes and “Paradise” at 639 million minutes.
Luminate, a Penske Media-owned analytics firm tracking more current streaming data, also reported that the series has not entered its Top 10 rankings during its run, with their figures generally showing lower engagement than Nielsen’s delayed reporting.
Industry observers note that even other Marvel series such as “She-Hulk” and “Ms. Marvel” managed to appear on Nielsen charts at least once during their runs, while “Star Wars: The Acolyte” accumulated 488 million minutes in its first two weeks.
The show’s performance has raised questions about the future of the franchise, particularly regarding a potential third season. Reports indicate that the second season is currently in production ahead of a March 2026 release and may benefit from the return of characters from “The Defenders,” though no official casting announcements have been confirmed in the available sources.
As of mid-April 2026, the series had concluded its run, with reports confirming it did not achieve a Top 10 placement in either Nielsen’s original or overall streaming charts during its availability or the subsequent weeks.
