Dark Horse Comics and Mattel have announced a new four-issue comic series titled “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Wings of Fate,” set to launch on June 10, 2026, following the global theatrical release of the live-action “Masters of the Universe” film from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios.
The series is written by Tim Sheridan, known for his work on “Masters of the Universe: Revolution,” and illustrated by Will Sliney, who has contributed to “Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren.” Israel Silva is handling the coloring, while AndWorld Design is responsible for lettering.
According to the announcement, the story begins in the aftermath of Skeletor’s siege on Eternos, where a down-and-out refugee finds and shelters a mysterious, injured falcon. To save the creature’s life, the refugee must undertake a perilous journey through the Mystic Mountains to seek aid from the inhabitants of Avion, a storied realm within the Masters of the Universe mythos.
The first issue of “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Wings of Fate” will be available in comic shops on June 10, 2026. The release is timed to coincide with the film’s theatrical debut, which is scheduled for June 5, 2026, in the United States, with international rollout following later that month.
This new comic line is part of a broader publishing initiative by Mattel and Dark Horse Comics to expand the Masters of the Universe franchise ahead of and alongside the live-action film’s release. The collaboration builds on previous announcements, including an ongoing series revealed in December 2025, and reinforces the companies’ strategy to engage fans across multiple platforms.
Mattel, a Nasdaq-listed global leader in toys and family entertainment, continues to leverage one of its most iconic intellectual properties through strategic partnerships with established publishers like Dark Horse Comics. The company has emphasized its commitment to delivering authentic, story-driven content that expands the universe beyond the screen.
Fans and retailers can find updates, announcements, and additional details about the series through Dark Horse Comics’ official website and social media channels. The publisher has encouraged audiences to follow its platforms for the latest news as the release date approaches.
