Davao City, Philippines – As the aroma of freshly baked bibingka fills the air, Davao City is embracing the spirit of Christmas with the opening of the Siyam ka Kadlawon Christmas Food Bazaar.The bazaar,which kicked off on December 16th,offers a delightful array of traditional Filipino delicacies,perfect for warming up on chilly mornings during the nine-day Misa de Gallo.
Located just outside Rizal Park, near the historic San Pedro Cathedral, the bazaar boasts 20 stalls brimming with beloved treats like puto maya, kutsinta, adn cassava cake.
“We chose this location to ensure the comfort and safety of our churchgoers,” explained Maximo Macalipes Jr., Economic Enterprise Manager of the Davao City Economic Enterprise (CEE). “We want to avoid overcrowding in front of the cathedral, especially since the number of attendees has been increasing.”
The bazaar’s new location offers a well-lit and festive atmosphere, enhancing the Christmas spirit for both vendors and visitors.
To ensure fairness and transparency, CEE personnel distribute Identification Cards to vendors who won their stalls through a raffle system. Attendance is also checked as early as 12:30 a.m. to guarantee that onyl authorized vendors are operating.
The CEE is committed to maintaining a safe and clean environment throughout the bazaar’s operation, with monitoring activities conducted from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. daily until December 24th.
