Beyond the tour, Byrne remains active in other creative endeavors. He recently shared the single ‘T-shirt’, co-written with Brian Eno, and has been vocal about his political views, previously releasing a playlist titled ‘The Beautiful Shitholes’ in response to comments made by Donald Trump in 2018. He also surprised audiences by performing the Talking Heads’ classic ‘Psycho Killer’ for the first time in 19 years at the start of his tour, and was joined onstage by Hayley Williams of Paramore for a performance of Paramore’s ‘Hard Times’ and their collaborative track, ‘What Is The Reason For It?’.
Most recently, Byrne covered Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” as part of the song’s five-year anniversary, with Rodrigo herself calling Byrne “one of my all-time heroes.” He also performed Talking Heads’ “Burning Down The House” with Rodrigo at Governor’s Ball last summer.
