Catherine Williamson, managing director of Entertainment at Julien’s Auctions, noted that each item offered a glimpse into Lynch’s unique creative vision.The director, who faced breathing difficulties due to emphysema before his death on Jan. 16 at age 78, saw his director’s chair fetch $91,000.
The most valuable item sold was a collection of 11 scripts from lynch’s unproduced film, “Ronnie Rocket: The Absurd Mystery of the Strange Forces of Existence,” which went for $195,000. A set of three “Mulholland Drive” scripts sold for $104,000,while the Winkie’s diner menus from the film were acquired for $7,800. The auction underscored the enduring role and cultural impact of Lynch’s projects.
