Teh family of David Lynch, who died in January at 78,is considering sharing his final script, titled Unrecorded Night, with the public. Lynch had been developing the limited series for Netflix.
Jennifer Lynch, David’s daughter, told The Times that the family has no plans to produce the series. Instead, they are exploring publishing the script so that fans can engage with his ideas. “It would be very sad if people didn’t get to see it,” she said.
Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said Lynch pitched the streaming service the limited series, which they eagerly accepted. Sarandos described it as ”filled with mystery and risks” and expressed regret that it never came to fruition due to COVID-19 and Lynch’s health issues.
Jennifer Lynch believes her father would have collaborated with Kyle MacLachlan, along with Laura Dern and Naomi Watts, on the project. “He loved to play with his friends,” she said.
Watts recalled having lunch with Lynch and Dern in November, noting that Lynch, despite being unwell, was eager to return to work.

“We had a very early idea but nothing on paper,” Frost said. “who knows? I didn’t feel it was appropriate to push when his health was uncertain. I can’t even fathom trying to do the show without him, but there may be other ways.”
