Kevin De Bruyne Departs Manchester City After Illustrious Decade

After a decade of remarkable achievements, Kevin De Bruyne has left Manchester City. The midfielder’s departure marks the end of an era defined by Premier League dominance and a historic Champions League title.
De Bruyne played a pivotal role in Manchester City’s success,securing six Premier League titles,five League Cups,and two FA Cups. His contributions culminated in the club’s first Champions League title in 2023, completing a coveted Treble.City became only the second English team to achieve this feat.
His final appearance at the Etihad Stadium against Bournemouth in May was an emotional farewell. He also made a brief appearance in City’s final domestic game against Fulham.
“It’s been remarkable to have the 10 years that I had with everything that happened here. It’s been an unbelievable ride and an absolute pleasure,” de Bruyne said.
de Bruyne added, “It was a joy working really hard to try and help create something that brought the club the success we enjoyed. I’m super proud to have played a part in that. manchester has been my home and my family’s home for these past 10 years.”
Manchester City has moved to fill the void left by de Bruyne, acquiring Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan and Rayan Cherki from Lyon. The club may face De Bruyne in the Champions League next season.
The Belgium international joins Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour at Napoli, a team that recently won a thrilling serie A title race.
