‘Orsk Maniac’ Dead Body Found as Russian Serial Killer Hunt Intensifies
A decaying male body discovered near the Kazakhstan border is undergoing tests to determine if it belongs to a notorious Russian serial killer dubbed the ‘Orsk Maniac‘.
Russian authorities are investigating a grim discovery near Akkermanovka, close to the border with Kazakhstan, where a decaying male body was found. The remains are currently undergoing forensic tests to ascertain if they belong to Nikolai Andreev, a man suspected of being one of Russia’s most prolific serial killers. If alive, Andreev would be 68 years old.
Andreev, who has been on the run sence 2013, is suspected by law enforcement of being responsible for the abduction, rape, and murder of over 100 women in the Orenburg region of southwest Russia between 2006 and 2016. If these allegations are proven true, andreev could surpass the grim toll of mikhail Popkov, also known as ‘The Werewolf‘, who was convicted of 81 murders in siberia and confessed to two more.
The body found was reportedly wearing a T-shirt with the words ‘Collection of 99 International Games’ and dark trousers. A key detail matching the wanted descriptions of the suspected mass killer is that all of the deceased’s teeth where gold. The cause of death for the unidentified man is yet to be persistent.
The manhunt for Andreev has been ongoing for years, fueled by frequent “sightings” and a £15,000 reward offered for information leading to his capture. His truck was previously tracked and found to contain a disturbing stash of condoms, women’s underwear, and hair clips, further solidifying suspicions against him.
Andreev was placed on Russia’s federal wanted list in 2013. Prior to his disappearance, he was described as a married father of two, outwardly appearing as a “peaceful and obedient family man.” Locals who knew him described him as “polite, well-mannered and respectable,” noting that he had worked as a lorry driver for 15 years.Earlier appeals from Russian police urged anyone who spotted the suspected serial killer to contact them instantly. The gravity of the situation was underscored when Interpol issued a red alert for Andreev, highlighting a distinguishing 5cm scar on his abdomen. The potential identification of the ‘Orsk Maniac’ could bring a chilling chapter of Russian crime history to a close.
