Concerns Over Mysterious Disease in Aswan Governorate
A mysterious disease has been reported in Aswan Governorate, resulting in the death of several citizens. The disease has caused widespread concern among the local population, with many calling for help.
According to an official of the Aswan Health Directorate, 28 cases have been detained at various hospitals due to intestinal infections caused by the seasonal virus or contaminated food.
Engineer Ahmed Abdel Malik, a resident of Abu Al-Raishan village, has expressed concerns over the contamination of drinking water in the village and surrounding areas. He has demanded that the matter be investigated and resolved before it turns into a disaster.
Prime Minister Intervenes to Address the Situation
Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli has ordered the relevant agencies to find the root cause of the symptoms and deal with the patients appropriately to provide medical services.
The Ministry of Health has sent a central team from the preventive medicine sector to Aswan Governorate to uncover the cause of the mysterious disease.
Drinking Water Analysis Reveals No Contamination
Abdel Sabur Al-Rawi, Chief Engineer of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company of Aswan, has revealed that water samples taken from various stations have been found to have chlorine concentrations in compliance with specifications.
Al-Rawi has confirmed that the water produced by the stations meets the required standards according to the Resolution No. (458) of the Ministry of Health of 2007.
Health Officials Deny Water Contamination Rumors
Aswan Director General of Health Dr. Mohammad Saeed has denied rumors of poisoning cases and deaths due to water contamination. He has emphasized that there are no cases of poisoning or gastrointestinal diseases due to drinking contaminated water.
The Aswan Health Care Authority has also denied rumors about allocating a floor of Aswan Specialized Hospital to cases of poisoning due to drinking water contamination.
Health Officials Visit Hospitals and Villages to Reassure Citizens
Dr. Amr Kandil, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, and Deputy Governor Engineer Amr Lashin, have visited Darau Central Hospital to examine patients with gastroenteritis.
They have also met with citizens in the villages of Benban and Al-Raqba Badrao to reassure them and provide guidance on overcoming intestinal infections.
Health Spokesperson Offers Tips to Prevent Gastrointestinal Diseases
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, official spokesman of the Ministry of Health, has advised citizens to prevent gastrointestinal diseases by washing hands before and after eating, cooking food well, and ensuring food hygiene.
He has also emphasized the importance of not eating food from unsafe sources and following proper procedures to overcome intestinal infections.
